In the early spring of 2007, Sally Naser and some AMC-Delaware Valley volunteers discovered an impressive encroachment on easement lands near the Blue Mountain Ski Area. This encroachment is a very good example of how a small encroachment can lead to an even bigger one if proper monitoring and reporting is not going on as this structure has obviously been expanded year after year. A cooperative effort by ATC, ATPO, AMC-Delaware Valley, and our trail neighbors, the Blue Mt Ski Resort led to the removal of this encroachment on May 17, 2008. AMC-Delaware Valley and the Blue Mt Ski Area Ski Patrol volunteers participated in this project. Blue Mt Ski Area also provided a few staff, a front end loader, 2 pickups, 2 stake trucks, and an assortment of tools for the demolition.
